DAY 1: UROS / AMANTANI
Our departure begins at 7:45 hrs. from your hotel The first stop we will make will be at the Floating Islands of the Uros, our visit will begin with the recognition of each island, how these islands were built on the highest navigable lake in the world, likewise our guide will explain the importance of these islands, our visit will be a maximum of 1 hour and a half.
To reach the island of Amantani it will take a maximum of 3 hours of navigation, approximately 9 km during the trip, you will be able to observe a great variety of landscape beauty, as well as the mountain chain (the Andes mountain range) in the port of Amantani, the president of the community will welcome us, and will begin to divide into groups so that the families are in charge of providing them with all the attention, lodging, food and company. During the afternoon you will have the option of taking a walk to one of the sacred mountains known as (Pacha Tata), this walk will start with the coordination of our guide. Amantaní, also known for the kindness of its people and for being the natural home of the Flor de la Cantuta, is home to eight communities that are dedicated to agriculture on terraces, raising sheep and handcrafting textiles and stone carvings. At night you should go to rest.
DAY 2: AMANTANI / TAQUILE
After a delicious typical breakfast we will continue to the next island of Taquile, the navigation will take 1 hour of travel, you will have the last chance to know enough. Most of the people of Taquile are very cooperative and well organized. That is why the Taquileños have demonstrated their high degree of progress in Textiles, receiving their award from UNESCO. It should be noted that spinning and weaving are mainly done by men, from the age of eight. The women make exclusively of threads and fabrics. Life in Taquile has not yet been greatly changed by modernity. The visit will take an average of 2 hours, and 1 hour you will have to taste a delicious typical lunch, if you really want to be part of this community, you can collaborate voluntarily by buying some of their crafts. So that this community has some means of sustainability, that way they can continue showing their existence to future travelers. Finally, our guide will inform you of the time of return, arriving at 5:00 p.m. in the city of Puno.
